Nova Centre, Halifax, Announces The Sutton Place as its Anchor Hotel
On the heels of the Halifax Convention Centre opening, The Sutton Place Hotel announced it will anchor Canada's newest convention centre. Sutton Place, which offers a sophisticated collection of luxury properties across western Canada will be making their Atlantic Canada debut with this new property.
“The Sutton Place Hotels have built a strong reputation for exceptional hospitality and service excellence – they are a perfect fit for our convention centre and our clients,” said Carrie Cussons, president and CEO of the Halifax Convention Centre. “We’re thrilled to welcome them to Halifax and connect our guests with such a highly regarded international brand.”
The hotel will feature 262 well-appointed guest rooms and suites with an on-site contemporary restaurant and lounge along with underground parking.
“Becoming part of the Halifax Convention Centre community and opening our first hotel in Eastern Canada is a very proud moment for us,” said Tom Gaglardi, Chairman and CEO of The Sutton Place Hotels. “Our philosophy is ‘A Tradition of Luxury’, and that’s exactly what we’ll be bringing to Halifax.”
Finishing work on the property will begin immediately, with a grand opening scheduled in Spring 2019.
With hotels in Vancouver, Edmonton, and Revelstoke Mountain Resort, as well as breaking ground in Calgary, Winnipeg, and Frisco (Texas) in 2018/19, The Sutton Place Hotels represent luxury accommodations with tasteful elegance, classically refined décor, and warm and inviting staff.
The Halifax Convention Centre opened its doors in December 2017. It will welcome 100+ events with an expected 80,000+ delegates in its first year of operations.
