Innovate Canada 2019
Innovate Canada 2019 Focuses on Canada’s Life Sciences Expertise
Business Events Canada’s unique strategy to attract global Life Sciences conferences and spur economic growth, Innovate Canada to take place in Toronto, May 21 – 24, 2019.
Business events help drive innovation and collaboration, and grow local economies. To foster growth in Canada’s share of global events, Business Events Canada is launching the second event in their Innovate Canada series, leveraging the country’s intellectual capital and industry strengths in the Life Sciences (medtech and pharma) sector to promote meeting, investing or doing trade with Canada.
Discovery is at the heart of Innovate Canada 2019, an exclusive four-day event for global C-suite executives to explore the ground-breaking work taking place across Canada’s life sciences, pharmaceutical and medtech industries. The second edition of this forward-leaning opportunity to educate, inform and entertain top leaders in their field, Innovate Canada will be hosted in Toronto, one of Canada’s leading hubs of innovation for life sciences from May 21 – 24, 2019.
“Canada boasts a solid track record of leadership across the Life Sciences,” says Chantal Sturk-Nadeau, executive director of Business Events Canada, the host organization. “Through Innovate Canada we can shine a spotlight on the cutting-edge research, breakthrough thinking and cross-industry collaboration that takes place in Canada, while also showcasing what Canada can offer in terms of hosting business events, for future collaboration, and for trade and investment.”
In partnership with Tourism Toronto, and eight Canadian centres that lead in life sciences, the event is timed to coincide with the inaugural Collision Conference, North America’s largest tech event.
“Timing Innovate Canada with the first Collision Conference in Toronto not only provides us an opportunity to showcase how well the city does large events, but it presents a great opportunity to take part in HealthConf, where the biggest minds in health tech are gathering,” says Virginie De Visscher, director of business development for economic sectors with Business Events Canada.
In addition to a curated VIP experience during Collision’s HealthConf track, guests of Innovate Canada will learn about leading life sciences centres across Canada during B2B exchanges with destinations and industry experts, and take part in behind-the-scenes tours of Toronto’s living labs and the companies revolutionizing Canada’s life sciences ecosystem. Indulging in one-of-a kind culinary and entertainment experiences showcasing Canadian ingenuity and culture is the reward at the end of each active day of learning.
“Toronto is the country’s largest combined life-sciences sector, providing access to industry thought-leaders and businesses driving innovation in the field,” said Johanne Bélanger, President and CEO of Tourism Toronto. By hosting events such as Innovate Canada, “Tourism Toronto and our meetings and events unit, Business Events Toronto, showcases the leadership Toronto displays in the sector to draw meetings and conferences from all around the world so that they can tap into our community of life science leaders, innovators and organizations.”
In addition to the education and networking sessions, qualified guests of Innovate Canada will be provided with roundtrip transportation to Toronto, lux accommodations at the Westin Harbour Castle Hotel, and opportunities to extend their stay to explore Toronto at their leisure.
