Parq Vancouver

Parq Vancouver reshapes Vancouver’s hotel landscape

When the Parq Vancouver opens on September 29, 2017, it will be the first major hotel development outside the city’s traditional hotel corridor in years. Vancouvericons.external-link-icon-bound conferences will soon have an opportunity to meet, house, and entertain their guests in an urban resort in the heart of the city and steps from the water, between Vancouver’sicons.external-link-icon Gastown and trendy Yaletown neighbourhoods.

Nothing has been spared in this much-anticipated $700 million urban resort, the first in western Canada designed and built to LEED Gold Certification standard. Comprised of both a luxurious JW Marriott Parq Vancouver, and The Douglas, an Autograph Collection property, the resort will feature:

  • 517 total guest rooms including 58 suites

  • 5,574 sq. m | 60,000 sq. ft. of shared event space

  • 8 restaurants and lounges helmed by two-times James Beard Award-nominated, Elizabeth Blau and chef Kim Canteenwalla

  • 2,878 sq. m. | 30,000 sq. ft. urban park atop its 6th floor terrace

  • the first Spa by JW in western Canada

  • a boutique casino

One resort, two distinctly different hotels, all linked by shared meeting space. The Parq lets planners book delegate accommodations in one, or both hotels:

Meet, Play, Eat

Anchoring the two properties on one level is the 5,574 sq. m. | 60,000 sq. ft. of shared meeting and event space. Designed for today’s flexible meetings requirements, the space features three ballrooms, 2,137 sq. m. | 23,000 sq. ft. of pre-function space, 23-foot windows, a variety of meetings pods, and the Parq Grand Ballroom, at 1,450 sq. m. | 15,604 sq. ft., Vancouver’sicons.external-link-icon largest hotel ballroom.

When meetings break, guests can take in the sights and shops of Yaletown and Gastown, or they can unwind at the 17th floor Spa by JW where the panoramic views of Vancouvericons.external-link-icon are as inspired as the treatments. Visitors can retreat here to work out in the 371 sq. m. | 4,000 sq. ft. rooftop fitness centre, take part in yoga classes in the outdoor yoga studio, or unwind in the whirlpool and zen garden.

Vancouvericons.external-link-icon is internationally renowned for its diverse culinary offerings. Adding to the already legendary mix of restaurants are Parq’s eight restaurants and lounges by Elizabeth Blau, a two-time James Beard Award nominee and her husband Chef Kim Canteenwalla. Culinary offerings range from up-market comfort food in BC Kitchen to classic American steak and seafood at Victor, to authentic Dim Sum at 1886, and the farm-to-table cuisine BC is known for served at Honey Salt.

A Unique Sense Of Place

Accommodations, meeting space and groundbreaking restaurants aside, perhaps the one touch that will distinguish Parq from all others is The Parq, a 2,878 sq. m. | 30,000 sq. ft. forested park elevated six stories above the city. Welcoming locals and hotel guests, this urban oasis features some 16,000 plants, 220 mature trees, countless nooks for quiet contemplation, gathering for cocktails and dinner with friends, or for private group functions.
