Cowboy up!

Harness your inner cowboy; this is one party that puts the wild in wild, wild west! A casual celebration of over-achievers in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains, the roundhouses of Banff’s Mountview Barbecue create an ideal setting for team celebrations that embrace western Canada’s distinct cowboy culture.

White-hatted cowboys on horseback greet you on arrival. A flourish of fiddle music rises up toward the mountain peaks - the Calgary Fiddlers welcome you into the round house where a blazing bonfire draws you in. A colourful indigenous ceremonial welcome, full of pageantry and song, connects you to this place, the traditional lands of the Blackfoot, Tsuut'ina, and Stoney Nakoda First Nations.

The aroma of barbecue captures your attention, but so do the line dancers, birds of prey demonstrators and traditional cowboy games. Try your hand at throwing a lasso, riding the roller roper or mechanical bull. Gather for cocktails around the bonfire, take a two-step lesson, or tuck into a lavish dinner featuring aged, roast hip of Alberta beef, proudly paraded by pitchfork by your cowboy hosts. Fill your plates: grilled Pacific salmon, whole roast chicken, hearty salads and scratch-made desserts fuel you up for a spin around the hardwood dance floor. Settle down afterward at the outdoor campfire for a round of cowboy poetry, or work off your dinner dancing to live entertainment. At the heart of an evening at Mountview Barbecue is the western hospitality of the Brewster family — as warm as a blazing bonfire.
